Happy holidays from Jamie and Eric!
We have much to be thankful for as the year 2023 comes to a close. Jamie continues to practice acupuncture and massage with her Balance Studio in Denver. Eric keeps busy writing freelance stories for a bunch of magazines, guidebooks, and websites. Our fuzzy friends, Ogma and Aoife, remain as playful and cuddly as ever.
We skied Monarch for Eric's 50th birthday in February, then went to a cabin in Westcliffe for our annual summer hiking retreat. We hiked to Lower Sand Creek Lake, one of the prettiest spots in the Great Sand Dunes National Preserve, and the dogs joyfully bounded around in the woods.
Then we visited our friends, Jason and Mee, in Philadelphia in the fall and had a great time at the Mutter Museum, Barnes Foundation, and Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. We also visited as many Trading Places locations as possible and ate great food.
Jamie continues to craft, with her latest needlefelting creation getting much love on Reddit. Eric continues to make hard listening music with his band, Weird Al Qaida, and played gigs in Denver and Trinidad. He also drew a fair amount of weird demons and created a few found-object sculptures. We had a lot of fun with the Free Little Art Gallery down the street, contributing pint-sized versions of artful aluminum cans, monster portraits, and oddly lovable robots.
It was also a banner year for gardening. The rock terraces Jamie tirelessly built out front in 2022 came alive, and our sunflowers topped 10 feet in the backyard. Jamie also built a raised bed; our tomato harvest was pretty good but Eric's peppers were paltry.
Here's to a great 2024!
